Job Description

Position Overview

The Marketing & Communication Officer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of Kaebauk's marketing, communications, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to strengthen the institution's brand and promote its products and services. The role ensures that all marketing materials, publications, and campaigns are consistent with Kaebauk's brand standards while coordinating digital and traditional marketing activities, events, and stakeholder engagement. The incumbent also provides administrative, budget, and reporting support to the Marketing Unit, works closely with internal departments and branches to enhance product promotion and communication effectiveness, and contributes to the successful implementation of CSR programmes. Through timely execution, quality assurance, and effective collaboration, the Marketing & Communication Officer plays an important role in increasing brand visibility, supporting business growth, and reinforcing Kaebauk's reputation as it progresses towards becoming a licensed commercial bank.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Brand Management, Marketing & Communications
  • Ensure all marketing and communication materials, publications, and promotional content comply with Kaebauk's brand guidelines, templates, and messaging standards.
  • Support the development and delivery of Kaebauk’s communications, digital and traditional marketing campaigns, and promotional materials, including workplace health, safety, and staff awareness communications.
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives that support business growth, product promotion, and market awareness while maintaining the marketing calendar and campaign timelines.
  1. Events, Corporate Social Responsibility & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver marketing events, programmes, and CSR initiatives, ensuring professional execution from planning through completion.
  • Host events and serve as the primary point of contact for participants, suppliers, and stakeholders, resolving enquiries promptly.
  • Liaise with business units and branches to provide communications support, improve product promotion, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
  1. Administration, Budget & Reporting
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Marketing Unit, including records management, invoicing, and purchase order processing.
  • Monitor marketing budgets and expenditure, maintain departmental records, and prepare regular reports, updates, and marketing performance metrics for Executive Leadership and the Board.
  1. Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of marketing activities, campaigns, publications, and CSR initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Recommend enhancements to marketing processes, communications, and promotional strategies to strengthen Kaebauk's brand, improve stakeholder engagement, and support the achievement of business objectives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications, or a related field of study, is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in digital and traditional marketing, media and community facilitation, and project management.
  • Entry career level: one (1) to three (3) years of service in an organization comparable with Kaebauk.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Fluency in Tetum and English, essential for communicating in both writing and speech.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours, including weekends, when required for campaigns and events.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong public speaking, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve issues with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a regular workload with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated willingness to absorb knowledge and learn new skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with a good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise at a professional level with a diverse client and stakeholder group.
